Information for Maryland Distance Education Students
The online programs at Georgetown University are registered with the Maryland Higher Education Commission. Georgetown provides the following information to Maryland residents enrolled in its online programs, in compliance with Maryland regulations.
Student Complaints and Grievances
All academic-related grievances by students (such as grade appeals) can be addressed through the Academic Affairs offices of respective schools.

Institutions are subject to investigation of complaints by the Maryland Office of the Attorney General or the Maryland Higher Education Commission.
Refund Policy
Georgetown University online programs will follow refund policies that conform with the minimum refund policy provided by the State of Maryland (provided below). If the program’s own refund policy is more beneficial for the Maryland students, the program will follow its refund policy.
Maryland Minimum Refund Policy
Proportion of Total Course, Program, or Term Completed as of Date of Withdrawal or Termination and Applicable Tuition Refund
Less than 10% - 90% refund
10% up to but not including 20% - 80% refund
20% up to but not including 30% - 60% refund
30% up to but not including 40% - 40% refund
40% up to but not including 60% - 20% refund
More than 60% - No refund
